What we do?

What do we do?

The underprivileged kids that we can help are those suffering from either congenital abnormalities, or those with conditions resulting from trauma or disease. For example,

  • Orthopaedic conditions such as syndactylism, dislocated hips or Club Foot.
  • Uro-genital problems such as vesico-urethral reflux causing hydronephrosis or cryptorchidism (undescended testes), hypospadias ( malformation of the urethral tube) and ambiguous genitali.
  • Abdominal and digestive conditions such as various hernia, intestinal malrotations, anorectal  or oesophageal atresias.
  • Maxillo-facial problems such as Haemangioma, Cleft lip or palate, malformed ears.
  • Neurosurgery such as hydrocephalus.
  • Disabilities caused by accidents or disease such as  burns  or malformation resulting from poliomyelitis.

To assist in the initial selection of beneficiaries, the Fund has developed an active network with various organizations, such as, Local authorities, schools, NGOs, charities, care centers, orphanages etc.

Two committees then vet each case. The Medical Committee determines whether or not the child can be treated, and followed by an Ethical Committee review if necessary.
